[origin: EP0543748A1] Process and equipment enabling a surface coating to be produced on articles (1) of various shapes, of the type in which the articles to be treated are arranged on supports (2) in the form of swing trays attached to a conveyor (3) which is connected to earth, enabling them to be conveyed along successive treatment zones essentially comprising a surface-cleaning zone (4), an actual coating zone (5) essentially consisting of an apparatus for electrostatically spraying a coating substance by means of a nozzle (6) forming a paraboloidal cloud of particles, the articles (1) passing in such a way that they pass through the cloud of particles in the region of the base of the paraboloid which they define. It is characterised in that the articles (1) to be coated are based on synthetic resin or similar insulating material and are held individually and vertically on the swing trays (2) moving them into the various treatment zones, and this is performed by means of supports (8) which are good conductors of electricity, ensuring continuous contact with the surface of the article (1) to be coated. <IMAGE>
