The measuring head according to the invention is designed to include a passage (22) crossing right through it, following the measuring axis (23). The passage is adapted to allow a ram (24) to slide freely with play, driven in alternate movements by a ramming device and fitted at its end with a means (28) of temporary assembly with a component element constituting the set of rods.
