[origin: WO9203806A1] A surveillance system in which a reflector (1) is used to focus an image of an external field of view (5) on to a sensor. Requirement for massive moving parts is minimised with changes to azimuth and/or elevation of line of sight being achieved through reflector pivoting and/or sensor movement. Multi-faceted or curved mirrors may be used to enhance azimuthal range. Graphics processing is utilised to present normal viewing images and/or the result of frame comparisons.
