Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0545217A1] An aeration device (1) for receptacles, e.g. heating radiators (2), which are filled or are to be filled with a liquid, has a valve body (5) which can be screwed into a threaded bore (4) in the wall (3) of the receptacle and which has an air outlet (7) to the outside provided e.g. with an aerating screw (6), and, lying higher than this outlet, an air inlet opening (8) on the inside of the receptacle or heating radiator (2). This air inlet opening (8) is in this case provided on an aerating part (9) which is rotatable relative to the valve body (5). The rotatable aerating part (9) is intended to allow the adjustment of the air inlet opening (8) to as high a position as possible in its operating position. In order that this can be adjusted already before the mounting of the aerating device (1) but this adjustment is not changed again during mounting and remains independent of the position in which the valve body (5) is fixed after screwing in, the rotatable aerating part (9) has at least one holding element, which holds it positionally stably in the direction of rotation during screwing-in of the valve body (5), e.g. in the form of friction surfaces which interact with the threaded bore (4) or an outlet (19), and/or in the form of a counterweight (30). The air inlet opening (8) is consequently, as a result of the rotatability between valve body (5) and aerating part (9) and the holding force which acts on the aerating part (9) during the screwing-in of the valve body (5), held firmly in the desired position adjusted previously. <IMAGE>
