Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0545769A1] The invention relates to a controlling device for a fly printing machine, managing on the one hand a first motor driving a rotary printing head, and on the other hand a second motor which actuates means for transporting the documents to be printed. According to the invention, the device comprises means for optimising the speed of rotation (V) of the said first motor, acting so that the tangential speed of the said printing head is kept equal to the transport speed (vi), during a printing phase corresponding to the time during which an envelope is in contact with the said working printing part, and as close as possible to the said transport speed during a complementary take-up phase. In this manner, the printing head no longer systematically stops during each printing cycle. The machine can therefore be used for fly printing. This in particular allows reduction of vibrations, wear and above all noise of the machine. Furthermore, it is thus easy to increase the throughput. <IMAGE>
