[origin: EP0545797A1] The present invention relates to a device for the temporary closure of an opening element, such as a door, on a supporting element, such as the body of a motor vehicle. This device comprises a spring (20) having two branches (22, 25) and held by one (22) of its branches (22, 25) on the end of a plate (10), the other (25) of the two branches and the plate (10) cooperating with one of the abovementioned opening or supporting elements (5, 6), so as to bring about an elastic retention of the device (1) on the said element (5) as a result of the restoring action of the said spring (20), the said plate (10) possessing, at its end opposite that mentioned above, a means (13) for retaining the other (6) of the abovementioned elements (5, 6) in the closing position of the opening element (6). This device is used particularly for the temporary closure of a door on a body of a motor vehicle on the painting line. <IMAGE>
