Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0325215A2] In an espagnolette lock, the espagnolette is moved from a lock cylinder via a reduction gear between an opening position and closing position and vice versa. There is provided a coupling of the reduction gear to the espagnolette which makes it possible during the rotation of the lock cylinder through 2 x 360 DEG , to displace the espagnolette from the opening position into the closing position and to block the espagnolette in the closing position against displacement, without the blocking forces introducing a torque into the reduction gear and therefore the lock cylinder. <IMAGE>

[origin: EP0325215A2] The door lock has a cylinder (10) which is rotated by a key. The The cylinder has an attached gear wheel which drives two pinions. The first pinion (12) rotates a lever (38) with a slotted end, which engages a pin (40) attached to the bolt (18) so that, as the key is rotated in the lock, the bolt is driven into the locked position by a connecting rod (16). The second pinion (12') drives a gear train which rotates a cam with two projections (24, 24'). The latter engage recesses (26, 26') in the sliding connecting rod. The latter forms part of a long flat bar which actuates other locks attached to the door.
