[origin: WO9204583A1] In water heaters of the type described in the claim, the special steel end plates are made up of two plate parts rigidly secured together so that the weld seams of the water chambers (18) must be arranged in laterally staggered array to the end strips (26) of the end plates so that they can be reached by the welding device. The insertion of the end plate parts (30, 50, 60) of the invention makes it possible to attach the edge strips (26, 28) after the water chambers have been made so that they can be taken closer to the plate block of the heat exchanger and the latter can be shortened, thus reducing costs. The preferred field of use is in gas-fired water heaters for hot water supplies and central heating.

Dans des chauffe-eau du type décrit, les lamelles terminales en acier spécial sont formées de deux parties mutuellement reliées de manière fixe, de sorte que les cordons de soudure des chambres à eau (18) doivent être latéralement décalées par rapport aux bandes marginales (26) des lamelles terminales afin d'être accessibles à l'appareil de soudage. L'insertion des parties (30, 50, 60) qui forment les lamelles terminales permet d'ajouter les bandes marginales (26, 28) après le montage des chambres à eau (28), de sorte que celles-ci peuvent être rapprochées du bloc de lamelles de l'échangeur de chaleur, qui peut ainsi être réduit de manière à diminuer les coûts. Le domaine préféré d'application est constitué par les chauffe-eau à gaz servant à l'alimentation en eau chaude et au chauffage central.
