In practice, natural roofings are simulated by using plastics. In this arrangement, in particular natural effects of a sedge roofing cannot be adequately simulated. The object of the invention is therefore to develop a roofing element (10), of the type mentioned in the introduction, which can be manufactured economically in terms of material, can be laid easily and gives a pleasing overall impression, both visually and architecturally. According to the invention, the top layer (12) of the roofing elements (10) consists of natural reeds (13), the anchoring ends (18) of which are connected to the carrier layer (11). The means and the process are suitable, in particular, for manufacturing strip-shaped roofing elements (10) having a top layer (12) consisting of reeds. First of all, reeds are connected in layers to the carrier layer (11) and are then coated on one side in a moisture-tight fashion. The building elements are particularly suitable for covering roof surfaces, but can likewise be used for cladding walls, in particular for the purpose of noise insulation. <IMAGE>

Bauelement, insbesondere platten- oder bahnförmiges Dachabdeckungselement mit einer Trägerschicht und einer Deckschicht, sowie Verfahren und Vorrichtung zur Herstellung desselben. In der Praxis werden natürliche Dachdeckungen unter Verwendung von Kunststoffen nachgebildet. Dabei können insbesondere natürliche Effekte einer Dachdeckung mit Riedgräsern nur ungenügend nachempfunden werden. Der Erfindung liegt daher die Aufgabe zugrunde, ein Dachabdeckungselement (10) der eingangs genannten Art zu entwickeln, welches materialökonomisch herstellbar und leicht verlegbar ist sowie gleichwohl einen optisch bzw. architektonisch ansprechenden Gesamteindruck aufweist. Erfindungsgemäß besteht die Deckschicht (12) der Dachabdeckungselemente (10) aus Naturhalmen (13), deren Verankerungsenden (18) mit der Trägerschicht (11) verbunden sind. Die Vorrichtung und das Verfahren sind insbesondere zur Herstellung bahnförmiger Dachabdeckungselemente (10) mit einer aus Halmen bestehenden Deckschicht (12) geeignet. Zuerst werden Halme lagenweise mit der Trägerschicht (11) verbunden, die anschließend einseitig feuchtedicht beschichtet wird. Die Bauelemente eigenen sich besonders zum Eindecken von Dachflächen, sind aber ebenso zur Verkleidung von Wänden, insbesondere zum Lärmschutz, einsetzbar. <IMAGE>
