[origin: EP0546345A1] A filling element (2) for drinks filling devices, having a liquid valve which closes once the reflux of gas has been interrupted and having a valve gate (7) which is mounted so as to be vertically movable between its lower closed position in which it bears on the fixed valve seat (10) and its upper open position, in which it bears on a vertically stationary fixed stop (12) with a valve stop (13) provided on the valve gate (7), and also having a gas barrier shaped like a bell (14) which is mounted on the valve gate, is characterised in that the bell (14) is mounted on the valve gate (7) so as to be vertically movable between the valve stop (13) and the fixed stop (12) and has upper and lower stop surfaces for the stops in the engagement region of the latter.
