[origin: EP0546371A1] In a drafting system for a spinning machine, in particular for a draft regulator for cotton, with at least two successive pairs of rollers (10, 10'; 11, 11'; 12, 12') which respectively possess a roller (10, 11, 12) driven by means of its own electric motor (14, 17), there is an electronic regulating device which regulates the rotational speed of at least one of the electric motors (14, 17) in order to compensate irregularities of a fibre sliver to be processed. In order to design a drafting system by as simple means as possible, so that the rollers are prevented from rotating backwards when at a standstill, the rollers (10, 11) driven by one electric motor (14) are assigned at least one free-wheel (15, 47, 49) and the roller or rollers (12) driven by the further electric motor (17) are assigned at least one further free-wheel (18, 50). <IMAGE>
