Abstract (en)
A photographic dye image forming method is disclosed. The method comprises steps of imagewise exposing to light a silver halide color light-sensitive material, developing the exposed light-sensitive material with a color developer, in which the light-sensitive material satisfies the following requirements. (1) A surface of the support on which sad silver halide emulsion layers to be provided has a roughness of not more than 1.0 mu m in terms of arithmetical mean deviation of profile determined. (2) The emulsion layers each contains silver halide grains having a silver chloride content of not less than 90 mol%. (3) In the green-sensitive emulsion layer the ratio of oil component to a hydrophilic binder each contained in the green-sensitive is not less than 0.8 by weight. (4) The developing step is carried out with a color developer containing a color developing agent in an amount of not less than 1.8 x 10<-><2> mol/1000 ml for a time of not less than 70 seconds. Images with high sharpness and high glossiness can be easily obtained by the method.
