[origin: US5299503A] The invention relates to a shell, the base of which acts as the parachute can of a sub-munition. The shell contains sub-munitions stacked one behind the other and is closed at the rear by a base. The submunitions are each equipped with a parachute and a can containing the folded parachute, the separation of each sub-munition from its can permitting the deployment of the parachute. The can of the sub-munition situated at the rear of the shell is constituted by the base of the shell.

L'invention se rapporte à un obus dont le culot fait office de pot de parachute d'une sous-munition. L'obus (1) contient des sous-munitions (3, 5, 31) empilées les unes à la suite des autres et est fermé à l'arrière par un culot (2). Les sous-munitions (3, 5, 31) sont chacunes équipées d'un parachute et d'un pot (4, 6, 2) contenant le parachute plié, la séparation de chaque sous-munition (3, 5, 31) de son pot (4, 6, 2) permettant le déploiement de son parachute. Le pot de parachute de la sous-munition (31) placée à l'arrière de l'obus (1) est constituée par le culot (2) de l'obus (1). Application : obus cargo. <IMAGE>
