[origin: JPH05247806A] PURPOSE: To obtain a warp knitted fabric having ground thread system patterned both in warp and weft directions and lapping in a cloth pattern in a part and other patterns in other part and working no unallowable tension to threads fed from common warp beams and forming the patterns and to provide a machine, and method for producing the fabric. CONSTITUTION: This fabric is a warp knitted fabric having a basis area (B) consisting of ground yarns and patterned areas (M1, M2, M3) forming several different patterns both in the weft direction as well as in the warp direction. The fabric has a cloth pattern in the basis area (B) and a repetition of several patterns selected from the group consisting of piller, tricot, cloth, satin and velvet stitches in patterned area (M1, M2, M3) and the average length of underlaps in the repetition (R) of predetermined patterns is nearly equal to the underlap length of the cloth lapping.
