The invention proposes a method for the destruction of an underwater object, such as for example a ground mine (MF) or a moored mine (MO), which includes a step of detecting and/or identifying the object including the implementation of means (VI) for detecting and/or for identifying the object from a distance which is greater than a specified minimum so-called safety distance (DS), and of a step for destroying the object, with the aid of a pyrotechnic charge (CAM) the explosion of which gives rise for example to the explosion or fragmentation of the mine or the actuation of pyrotechnic shears (18) installed on the mooring line (20) of a moored mine (MO), the destruction step consisting in implementing a charge which joins on to the object, then in giving rise to the explosion of the charge, characterised in that the charge is implemented from a piece of intermediate underwater equipment (EF) previously installed on the bottom by an underwater vehicle (VI). <IMAGE>

L'invention propose un procédé de destruction d'un objet sous-marin, tel que par exemple une mine de fond (MF) ou une mine à orin (MO), qui comporte une étape de détection et/ou d'identification de l'objet comportant la mise en oeuvre de moyens (VI) de détection et/ou d'identification de l'objet à une distance supérieure à une distance minimale déterminée dite de sécurité (DS), et une étape de destruction de l'objet, à l'aide d'une charge pyrotechnique (CAM) dont l'explosion provoque par exemple l'explosion ou la fragmentation de la mine ou l'actionnement d'une cisaille pyrotechnique (18) mise en place sur l'orin (20) d'une mine à orin (MO), l'étape de destruction consistant à mettre en oeuvre une charge qui accoste l'objet, puis à provoquer l'explosion de la charge, caractérisé en ce que la charge est mise en oeuvre à partir d'un équipement intermédiaire sous-marin (EF) préalablement mis en place sur le fond par un véhicule sous-marin (VI). <IMAGE>
