[origin: EP0548026A1] In a spinning machine, the fibre strand used in the spinning process or at least some of the roving bobbins (11, 101), on which the fibre strand is wound, or the roving (10) leading from the roving bobbins (11) to the drawing unit (18) are loaded with a conditioned medium on one side directly by means of one or more nozzles (12, 122) or outlet orifices (12') guided into their vicinity. The controlled conditioning of the fibre strand fed to a drawing unit of the spinning machine is thereby achieved, since the medium can scarcely mix with the atmosphere surrounding the fibre strand, before it reaches the latter. <IMAGE>
