Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0548707A1] The invention relates to a method of increasing the water depth of a watercourse, in which bed material of the watercourse bed is removed or carried away, preferably swirled up and drawn off. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device for increasing the water depth of a watercourse, which has a means capable of acting on the bed material of the watercourse bed for removing or carrying away bed material, preferably a swirling and/or suction means, preferably for carrying out the aforesaid method. The object of the invention is to show a method and a device of the generic category mentioned at the beginning which enable the water depth of a watercourse to be increased even in the case of a relatively harder watercourse bed. The object is achieved according to the invention by resistant bed material being weakened. In the solution according to the invention of the set object, a device according to the invention is distinguished by a high-pressure jet means (6) for forming at least one high-pressure jet which can be directed against the watercourse bed (1), comprising at least one high-pressure pump and at least one high-pressure nozzle. <IMAGE>
