[origin: WO9301919A1] The thermal-cutting method proposed calls for the moving web of fusible fabric (14) to be cut by means of a hot cutter-wire (12) which, in the plane at right angles to the direction of cutting, makes an angle ( alpha ) with the web (14) such that 90 DEG > alpha > 0. Cutting thus produces inclined surfaces (26, 28) which improve the appearance, feel and mechanical properties of the cut edge.
