[origin: EP0549820A1] The honing tool (1) serves to finish bores of small diameter. For this purpose, honing tools are known which have a single honing stick which is arranged in such a way as to be radially adjustable in a longitudinal slot of a tubular tool body. When the honing stick is of considerable length, as is necessary for long bores, these honing tools, on account of the correspondingly long longitudinal slot, are not rigid enough to achieve the high accuracy required in the bore dimensions, even in bores with curvature errors. To remove this disadvantage, in the honing tool according to the invention stiffening (19) of the tool body (15) is provided in the area of the longitudinal slot, which is thereby closed on the inside.
