[origin: EP0549870A1] In the case of a rotary selector switch, whose cam shaft or cam disc control numerous switching contacts, the cam shaft or cam disc is locked in the angular position corresponding to the respective switching position by means of a latching plunger (18) which is pressed against a latching star (16) by means of a spring which acts axially. A U-shaped leaf spring (28), whose two limbs enclose the latching plunger, is inserted into the latching chamber (12). In the upper part, the latching chamber is provided with an expansion (30) in which the latching plunger can move to both sides together with the upper parts of the leaf spring. The leaf spring is deflected by the latching tooth of the latching star during switching, and its prestress caused thereby ensures a fast transition over the unstable intermediate position. <IMAGE>
