Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0549884A1] In sheet-fed rotary printing machines for perfecting, a double gearwheel with a coupling device is provided in the gear train. Said coupling device is to be made to function automatically whilst the double gearwheel is to remain simple in terms of construction and not additionally loaded in terms of weight. <??>The coupling device consists of a substantially two-part annular mechanism (36, 37) which is attached movably to the machine frame (26). Together with an outer ring (37) an inner ring (36) forms a compression space which is pressurised with hydraulic fluid for uncoupling. In this process, the rings (36, 37) are pressed apart until the outer ring (37) strikes against a clamping device for the gearwheel ring on the double gearwheel and the inner ring (36) against an unlocking element (39) on the main gearwheel and the clamping force of the clamping device on the gearwheel ring is reduced. The forces to be applied are conducted inside the double gearwheel. For renewed clamping, the annular space is again made pressureless. In the state of rest, the coupling device does not touch the gearwheel. <IMAGE>
