[origin: EP0550325A1] The invention relates to an electronic franking machine comprising a franking head (8), a module for storage and feeding in of items of mail, a transporter for individually driving the items of mail from the storage and feed module to the franking head. It consists of two parts one (2) called lower part forming a base, and the other (4) called upper part, mounted articulated on the lower part, these two parts interacting to form a longitudinal tunnel (6) which extends from the storage and feed module to the franking head. The two-part structure of the franking machine according to the invention allows entirely automated handling of the mail, with a high degree of safety, and a maximum reduction in the sound and vibratory levels of the latter. <IMAGE>
