Abstract (en)
The plasma torch (10; 11, 12, 14) comprises an electrical supply (20) with an arc circuit (21) and a coil circuit (22) which are mounted in series and with means (30) for controlling the strength of the current flowing through the coil (22) and consisting, among other things, branched off from this coil (14), of a chopper composed of a battery of capacitors (31) and of at least one electronic power switch (32) which can be placed far from the coil. The electronic switch is preferably of the thyristor-diode type (321, 322) with resonant de-energising circuit (31, 323). A variant of this chopper uses at least one electronic switch of the GTO thyristor type with controlled triggering and controlled turn-off, or at least one conventional thyristor equipped with an auxiliary extinction circuit. La torche à plasma (10; 11, 12, 14) comprend une alimentation électrique (20) avec un circuit d'arc (21) et un circuit de bobine (22) qui sont montés en série et avec des moyens (30) pour la commande de l'intensité du courant circulant dans la bobine (22) constitués, entre autres, montés en dérivation sur cette bobine (14) d'un hacheur composé d'une batterie de condensateurs (31) et d'au moins un interrupteur électronique de puissance (32) qui peut être placé éloigné de la bobine. L'interrupteur électronique est de préférence du type thyristor-diode (321, 322) à circuit de désamorçage résonant (31, 323). Une variante de ce hacheur utilise au moins un interrupteur électronique de type thyristor GTO commandable à l'enclenchement et à l'ouverture, ou au moins un thyristor classique équipé d'un circuit auxiliaire d'extinction. Application aux torches de grande puissance à usage industriel par exemple métallurgique. <IMAGE>
