The show case comprises a body (1) in which compartments (10) are constructed for receiving articles to be displayed. The compartments have openings in the front region of the show case and these openings are covered with the aid of a partially transparent panel (5). Accommodated in each case compartment (10) is at least one light source (15) which is connected to a control device. Said device can selectively provide the light source (15) with energy. During the energy supply to the light source (15) in one compartment (10), the section of the surface of the front panel (5) ahead of this compartment appears to be transparent while the remaining regions of the front panel (5) appear to the viewer as a mirror. This show case can divert the attention of the viewer to a very great extent to the articles displayed. <IMAGE>

Der Schauschrank enthält einen Korpus (1), in dem Fächer (10) zur Aufnahme von auszustellenden Gegenständen ausgeführt sind. Die Fächer weisen Oeffnungen im Frontbereich des Schauschrankes auf und diese Oeffnungen sind mit Hilfe einer für das Licht teilweise durchlässigen Platte (5) überdeckt. Im jeweiligen Schrankfach (10) ist zumindest eine Lichtquelle (15) untergebracht, welche an ein Steuergerät angeschlossen ist. Dieses Gerät kann die Lichtquelle (15) wahlweise mit Energie versorgen. Während der Energieversorgung der Lichtquelle (15) in einem Fach (10) erscheint der diesem Fach vorgeschaltete Abschnitt der Fläche der Frontwand (5) durchsichtig, während die übrigen Bereiche der Frontplatte (5) dem Betrachter als ein Spiegel erscheinen. Dieser Schauschrank kann die Aufmerksamkeit der Betrachter in einem sehr hohen Masse auf die ausgestellten Gegenstände lenken. <IMAGE>
