2.1. Packages composed of two sub-packages are in increasing demand as so-called cigarette cartons, as "half cartons", i.e. sub-packages with a smaller number of packets of cigarettes, are demanded by consumers. The sub-packages are produced from a common, integral blank, which is severed before the package is brought into circulation, so that sub-packages are formed from two partblanks. The said sub-packages are connected to one another by means of separable connecting elements, especially adhesive strips. 2.2. Such packages, which comprise two sub-packages, are mechanically produced in an efficient manner in a folding revolver. An integral blank is introduced into pockets of the folding revolver and is virtually completely folded. The groups of packets of cigarettes are then pushed into the sub-packages inside the pockets via open sides.

Aus zwei Teilpackungen (25,26) bestehende Verpackungen (23) sind als sogenannte Zigaretten-Stangen zunehmend gefordert, weil "Halbstangen", also Teilpackungen (25,26) mit einer geringeren Anzahl an Zigaretten-Packungen (20), von den Verbrauchern verlangt werden. Die Teilpackungen (25,26) werden aus einem gemeinsamen, einstückigen Zuschnitt (24) gefertigt, der vor dem in Verkehr bringen der Verpackung (23) durchtrennt wird, so daß aus zwei Teilzuschnitten gebildete Teilpackungen (25,26) entstehen. Diese sind durch trennbare Verbindungsorgane, insbesondere Klebestreifen (36), miteinander verbunden. Die maschinelle, leistungsfähige Herstellung solcher Verpackungen (23) aus zwei Teilpackungen (25,26) erfolgt in einem Faltrevolver (42). Ein einstückiger Zuschnitt (24) wird in Taschen (48) des Faltrevolvers (42) eingeführt und nahezu fertiggefaltet. Über offene Seiten werden sodann die Gruppen (21,22) der Zigaretten-Packungen (20) in die Teilpackungen (25,26) innerhalb der Taschen (48) eingeschoben. <IMAGE>
