[origin: EP0551994A1] A silver halide photographic material is disclosed which has a high glossiness at the surface thereof. The photographic material comprises a support and one or more photographic component layers provided on the support and at least one of the photographic component layers contains an alkali-processed cattle-bone gelatin without chemical modification which has an isoelectric point not lower than 5.2. The alkali-processed cattle-bone gelatin having specified isoelectric point is preferably contained in a protective layer provided at the position of the photgraphic component layers farthest from the support.
