[origin: WO9207399A1] A device for supplying and exchanging a plurality of cables has a cable supply and exchange unit with fixed counter-rollers for guiding individual cables supplied from a cable store and unlockable clamping elements associated to the individual cables. The device further has a movable driving unit with a driving roller, a laying tool that can be placed in position by a multiple-axis positioning unit and a unit for cutting the cables into sections. The cable exchange unit is stationary and linked to the laying tool by a flexible hose. An intermediate store for the cables cut into sections by the laying tool and fed back by the driving roller to the cable exchange unit is provided between the cable store and the cable exchange unit.
