The invention relates to a method for operating a baking oven (which can be closed via a door) of a domestic cooker, grill or the like which can be heated by means of at least one electrical heating device and/or one microwave device, in the case of sole operation of the microwave device or in the case of combination operation of the microwave device with an electrical heating device, the microwave device being cut off when the door is opened. In order to render manual switching-on of the microwave device superfluous and in order to ensure that the operation of the microwave device is continued once the door has been closed if its operating duration has not yet elapsed, the microwave device in combination operation is automatically switched on again, according to the invention, when the door is closed again, after such microwave device has been cut off as a result of the door being opened, provided an adjustable time duration for microwave operation has not yet elapsed. <IMAGE>

Verfahren zum Betrieb eines über eine Tür verschließbaren Backraumes eines Haushaltsherdes, Grillgerätes o. dgl. der durch mindestens eine elektrische Heizeinrichtung und/oder eine Mikrowelleneinrichtung beheizbar ist, wobei bei einem alleinigen Betrieb der Mikrowelleneinrichtung oder bei einem Kombinationsbetrieb der Mikrowelleneinrichtung mit einer elektrischen Heizeinrichtung die Mikrowelleneinrichtung bei einem Öffnen der Tür abgeschaltet wird. Um ein manuelles Einschalten der Mikrowelleneinrichtung überflüssig zu machen und um sicherzustellen, daß bei noch nicht abgelaufener Betriebsdauer für die Mikrowelleneinrichtung deren Betrieb nach einem Schließen der Tür fortgesetzt wird, wird erfindungsgemäß bei dem Kombinationsbetrieb nach dem Abschalten der Mikrowelleneinrichtung aufgrund eines Öffnens der Tür mit derem erneuten Schließen die Mikrowelleneinrichtung automatisch wieder eingeschaltet, sofern eine einstellbare Zeitdauer für einen Mikrowellenbetrieb noch nicht abgelaufen ist. <IMAGE>
