[origin: EP0552652A1] In a floor nozzle for vacuum cleaners, which comprises a housing and a brush strip mounted vertically adjustably therein, two suction channels located in the bottom plate are separated, running transversely to the pushing direction, by an intermediate strip. This intermediate strip is constructed as a rigid furrow web and is arranged between a front and a rear cleaning edge and, due to its digging-in effect into the pile fabric to be cleaned, thus opens the latter into the front or rear suction channel depending on the direction of movement. <IMAGE>
