Method and device for charging (feeding) and discharging (emptying) a storage rail (12) which is arranged in a storage region, especially a freezer of a slaughterhouse, by means of a conveying device (storage rail conveyor 17) which has a reversible running direction and is provided with sufficient carriers (21-30) to fill the storage rail (12) with slaughtered animals, which carriers act in dependence on the running direction and serve to convey the slaughtered animals from the feeding conveyor (10) to the discharging conveyor (11), a storage gap remaining on the storage rail (12) after a number of slaughtered animals have been fed in which is smaller than the unused capacity of the storage rail, and on emptying a partial quantity (50) of the quantity located on the storage rail (12), either only the partial quantity (50) is conveyed or the whole quantity on the storage rail is conveyed until the partial quantity has been discharged, if appropriate leaving a residual quantity (52) on the storage rail (12). <IMAGE>

Verfahren und Vorrichtung zur Beschickung (Einfördern) und Entleerung (Ausfördern) eines in einem Aufbewahrungsbereich, insbesondere einem Kühlraum eines Schlachthofs, angeordneten Stapelgleises (12) mittels einer in seiner Laufrichtung umkehrbaren Fördereinrichtung (Stapelgleisförderer 17), die mit einer für eine Befüllung des Stapelgleises (12) mit Schlachttierkörpern ausreichenden Anzahl von laufrichtungsabhängig wirksamen Mitnehmern (21-30) zur Förderung der Schlachtstücke vom Zubringförderer (10) zum Abzugsförderer (11) versehen ist, wobei bei Einförderung einer Schlachttiermenge, die kleiner als die freie Stapelgleiskapazität ist, nach dem Einfördern auf dem Stapelgleis (12) eine Stapellücke verbleibt und bei Ausförderung einer Teilmenge (50) der auf dem Stapelgleis (12) befindlichen Stapelgleismenge entweder nur eine Förderung der Teilmenge (50) oder eine Förderung der gesamten Stapelgleismenge bis zur Ausförderung der Teilmenge, gegebenenfalls unter Verbleib einer Restmenge (52), auf dem Stapelgleis (12) erfolgt. <IMAGE>
