[origin: WO9206180A1] Viruses or cells are targeted for selective internalization into a target in vivo. A molecule specific for a receptor on the surface of the target cell is introduced onto the surface of the virus or cell. The modified virus or cell binds the receptor in vivo and is internalized by the target cell. The method provides vectors for selective delivery of nucleic acids to specific cell types in vivo and a means to alter the tropism of an infectious agent.

L'invention consiste à cibler des virus ou des cellules pour permettre leur inclusion sélective dans une cellule cible in vivo. A cet effet, une molécule spécifique d'un récepteur sur la surface de la cellule cible est introduite dans la surface du virus ou de la cellule. Le virus ou la cellule ainsi modifié se lie au récepteur in vivo et est inclus dans la cellule cible. Le procédé utilise des vecteurs pour fournir sélectivement des acides nucléiques à des types de cellules spécifiques in vivo et un moyen pour modifier le tropisme d'un agent infectieux.
