[origin: EP0553440A1] A guiding bush for a longitudinally adjustable column for chairs has an outer side which is constructed for receiving and supporting in a guiding tube (2) of the column. Furthermore, the guiding bush has an inner surface (8) on which guiding webs (11) are formed which project in the direction of a longitudinal mid-axis (4). The guiding webs (11) are separated from one another by recesses (13). Partial cylindrical surfaces (12), which are produced by machining and are concentric to the axis (4), are formed on the guiding webs (11) as guiding surfaces for a housing of a longitudinally adjustable gas spring. <IMAGE>
