Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0553455A1] A suction head (4) which can be periodically connected to a source of subatmospheric pressure is moved, by means of a lever mechanism (5), along a continuous circulatory path (6) between an acceptance point (7) and a discharge point (8). At the acceptance point (7), the suction head (4) picks up the respective uppermost product (2) of a stack (1) and takes it to the discharge point (8) at which the product (2) is discharged. The drive shaft (14) of the lever mechanism (5) is driven by a drive device with varying speed in such a manner that the suction head (4) is moved along its movement path (6) with a speed which is minimal in the region of the acceptance point (7) during the carrying along of a product (2) directly subsequently to the picking up, and subsequently increases. Perfect picking up of the printed products (2) is thereby achieved and it is avoided that the subsequent printed product is taken along by the suction effect. The drive device can be an intermediary gearing or variable-ratio planetary gearing which is driven at constant speed by a drive motor and it is designed for example as a rotating slider crank. <IMAGE>
