[origin: EP0553764A1] A suspended monorail (1) has at least one carrying vehicle (4) which can be moved along a running rail (3) in order to transport and position loads (2). The running rail (3) is formed by two essentially horizontal running rails (5-10) lying opposite one another and lateral, essentially vertical running rails (5-10). The carrying vehicle (4) comprises a vehicle frame (11) and a number of rollers (12-19) which are rotatably mounted thereon. Of these rollers, a drive roller (12), drive-connected to the motor (20), rolls on the first horizontal running face (5), two reaction rollers (13-14) spaced from one another roll on the second horizontal running face (6) and at least two guide rollers (15-18) roll on vertical running faces (7-10) which lie opposite one another. In order to be able to pass through even negative inclines or positive inclines of the rail of 45 DEG or greater with simple means without changes to rails (3) and without additional drives, at least one contact roller (19) to which force can be applied in the direction of the second horizontal running face (6) is mounted directly opposite the drive roller (12) on the vehicle frame (11) between the reaction rollers (13, 14) so as to be capable of rotating and rolls along the second horizontal running face (6). <IMAGE>
