[origin: WO9207764A1] It is known to carry out a successive filling of flat bag members which are supplied as a continuous web to a filling station, in which the applied means for advancing the opposed, open top edge areas are arranged so as to effect a mutual spacing of these areas for opening the bag member. During their movement into and out from the filling station the bag members shall pass the spacer area even with their closed side edges, such that the side edge joints cannot extend all the way up to the top edge. With the invention use is made of parallel gripping chains (20) which can advance the bag member web in closed condition through the filling station (4), while the chains, when stopped upon introduction of a bag member (2) into this station, are caused to move away from each other for opening the bag member. When the bag member has been filled the chains are brought together, and the bag member is moved out of the station while the next bag member is fed thereto. Hereby the side edge joints may extend almost up to the top edge, and the bag web may be gripped in a safe manner without its top edge having to be thickened or folded. The opening and the closing of the bag members in the filling station can be effected by means of a very simple control system (59, 52).

Selon un procédé connu, on peut remplir une succession de sacs plats qui se présentent à un poste de remplissage sous forme d'une bande continue. Un dispositif est prévu pour faire avancer les parties marginales supérieures et opposées des sacs et pour écarter ces parties les unes des autres afin d'ouvrir les sacs. Lors de leur entrée dans le poste de remplissage, et de leur sortie de celui-ci, les bords latéraux des sacs sont fermés mais les fermetures ne s'étendent pas jusqu'au bord supérieur. On a prévu des chaînes de serrage parallèles (20) aptes à faire passer la bande de sacs fermés dans le poste de remplissage (4). Lorsque les chaînes s'arrêtent lors de l'introduction d'un sac (2) dans ledit poste, elles s'écartent l'une de l'autre pour permettre l'ouverture du sac. Dès que le sac est plein, les chaînes se rapprochent l'une de l'autre et emportent le sac pour permettre l'introduction dans le poste de remplissage du sac suivant. Ainsi, les fermetures latérales peuvent s'étendre presque jusqu'au bord supérieur et la bande de sacs peut être serrée en toute sécurité sans que son bord supérieur ne doive être épaissi ni plié. L'ouverture et la fermeture des sacs dans le poste de remplissage peut s'effectuer au moyen d'un système de commande simplifié (59, 52).
