[origin: EP0556442A1] In an espagnolette fitting for windows, doors or the like, with an espagnolette 9 displaceable behind a cover rail 8, for example via an actuating mechanism, this espagnolette 9 is formed from two espagnolette portions 10 and 11 displaceable relative to one another for the purpose of a change of length and non-positively and positively connectable to one another in a plurality of reference positions via coupling members 12 and countercoupling members 13, the espagnolette portions 10 and 11 being held in connection with one another in predetermined grid dimensions after the disengagement of the coupling members 12 and countercoupling members 13 held in engagement with one another by means of spring force 15. So that easy readjustment of the coupling connection between the espagnolette portions 10 and 11 is possible when the espagnolette fitting is already installed in a functionally correct manner, the two espagnolette portions 10 and 11, at least in the region of their mutually assigned coupling members 12 and countercoupling members 13, are received over their maximum displacement travel in a guide 14 connected to the cover rail 8. The first espagnolette portion 10 is supported in the direction of its height in the guide 14 and is equipped with coupling members 12 extending in the direction of its profile height. The second espagnolette portion 11 has a profile height which corresponds to only a fraction of the profile height of the guide 14 and is equipped, over its entire profile height, with the countercoupling members 13. The second espagnolette portion 11 rests on a support bearing 15 seated at the bottom in the guide 14 and subjected upwards to the spring force, whilst the cover rail 8 is provided, above the support bearing 15 subjected to the spring force, with a perforation 19 as a passage for a pin-like actuating tool, for example a screwdriver 22. By means of the pin-like actuating tool 22, the second espagnolette portion 11 can, on the one hand, be disengaged by means of its countercoupling members 13 downwards out of the coupling members 12 of the first espagnolette portion 10 counter to the spring force exerted on the support bearing 15 and, on the other hand, in the disengaged position, be displaced longitudinally by one or more grid dimensions in relation to the first espagnolette portion 10. <IMAGE>
