[origin: EP0556463A1] The invention relates to an impression roller (5), which is equipped with an electrostatic printing aid and provided with an axle (6) or shaft (20), of a printing unit which is arranged in a machine frame and has, above a steel casing (7), a lining (8) which is conductive to a limited extent, this lining (8) being electrically chargeable, the said impression roller (5) being characterised in that the axle or shaft of the impression roller is connected to the steel casing in an electrically conductive fashion and is electrically insulated from the machine frame (10), and in that an electrical voltage can be applied to the axle or to the shaft for the purpose of electrically charging the lining which is conductive to a limited extent. <IMAGE>
