[origin: EP0556601A1] A compound profile (1) consists of two metal profile parts (2, 3) and two plastic insulating webs (4, 5) which interconnect these two parts and are held in grooves (7) of the metal profile parts (2, 3), the inner sides of the metal profile parts (2, 3) and of the plastic insulating webs (4, 5) delimiting a chamber (9) of essentially rectangular cross-section which runs continuously in the longitudinal direction of the compound profile (1) and which is filled with a heat-insulating material. The heat-insulating material comprises at least one flexible "garland" (11) which fits against the walls of the chamber (9) and divides the chamber (9) into individual chamber sections in the longitudinal direction. <IMAGE>
