The invention relates to a roller assembly for applying a coating compound to a paper web, having the following features: An applicator roller which rotates in a coating compound sump; a trough; a counter-roller which rotates in the direction opposite to that of the applicator roll and, with the latter, forms an inlet gusset and an outlet gusset; the trough has a coating compound feed, a guide wall with a first overflow edge and an overflow channel for a first overflow stream; a guide body is provided which, at its downstream end, has a second overflow edge for a second overflow stream. The invention is characterised by the following features: the guide body has a discharge channel for discharging the second overflow stream; the guide body forms a restriction point with the paper web; the discharge channel is provided with a valve.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Walzenauftragswerk zum Auftragen von Streichfarbe auf eine Papierbahn mit den folgenden Merkmalen: Eine Auftragswalze, die in eine Streichfarbensumpf umläuft; einen Trog; eine Gegenwalze, die gegenläufig zur Auftragswalze umläuft und mit dieser einen Einlaufzwickel sowie einen Auslaufzwickel bildet; der Trog weist einen Streichfarben-Zulauf auf, eine Leitwand mit einer ersten Überlaufkante sowie eine Überlaufrinne für einen ersten Überlaufstrom; es ist ein Leitkörper vorgesehen, der an seinem stromabwärtigen Ende eine zweite Überlaufkante für einen zweiten Überlaufstrom aufweist. Die Erfindung ist durch die folgenden Merkmale gekennzeichnet: der Leitkörper weist einen Ableitkanal zum Ableiten des zweiten Überlaufstromes auf; der Leitkörper bildet mit der Papierbahn eine Drosselstelle; der Ableitkanal ist mit einem Ventil versehen.
