[origin: WO9208995A1] A method of measuring the forming process of a fibre web by ultrasonic measuring. In the method, the thickness of the fibre web is determined by measuring variation in the thickness of the fibre web at one measuring point at a time and by counting the number of pulses obtained for each thickness value during a measuring period, whereafter a curve (T) describing the turbulence profile is formed of the measured values as an envelope of the number (n) of occurrence of each thickness value (h).

Procédé servant à mesurer le processus de formage d'une bande continue par mesure ultrasonique. Selon le procédé, on détermine l'épaisseur de la bande en mesurant la variation de l'épaisseur de la bande en un point de mesurage à la fois, et en comptant le nombre d'impulsions obtenues pour chaque valeur d'épaisseur au cours d'une période de mesurage, après quoi une courbe (T) représentant le profil de turbulence est dessinée à partir des valeurs mesurées sous forme d'une courbe-enveloppe du nombre (n) de fois que chaque valeur d'épaisseur (h) apparaît.
