[origin: WO9208624A1] A suspension system for a wheelchair comprises a frame (14), a pivot bar (26) mounted to the frame through a hinge point, and a seat (32) mounted on the pivot bar. The pivot bar is supported from the frame by a shock absorber (28) and a helical spring (30) so that impacts transferred to the frame through the wheelchair wheels (10, 12) are partially decoupled from the movement of the seat. The movement of the seat is constrained in a single plane along the longitudinal axis center line (CL) of the wheelchair.

Système de suspension pour une chaise roulante comprenant un cadre (14), une barre de pivot (26) montée sur le cadre par l'intermédiaire d'un point d'articulation, et un siège (32) monté sur la barre de pivot. Cette dernière est supportée sur le cadre par un amortisseur (28) et par un ressort hélicoïdal (30), de sorte que les chocs communiqués au cadre par les roues (10, 12) de la chaise roulante soient partiellement découplés du mouvement du siège. Le mouvement du siège est limité à un plan unique le long de la ligne médiane de l'axe longitudinal (CL) de la chaise roulante.
