[origin: WO9208432A1] A folding wheelchair includes a pair of side frames (A) as well as folding frames (D) connecting the side frames for enabling the side frames to be selectively brought together to a folded position and moved apart to an operating position. A pair of footrest brackets (20) are secured to respective side frames. Each of the brackets curve inwardly away from the side frames and toward each other. A pair of footrests (110) are pivotally secured to a respective one of the footrest brackets such that the footrest can be selectively swung between a horizontal orientation for receiving an operator's leg and a vertical orientation for allowing forward access to the chair and for permitting the chair to be folded.

Un fauteuil roulant comprend une paire de châssis latéraux (A) ainsi que des châssis pliants (D) reliés aux châssis latéraux pour que l'on puisse, au choix, rapprocher les châssis latéraux dans une position pliée ou les écarter pour les mettre dans une position d'utilisation. Deux supports de repose-pied (20) sont fixés sur leur châssis latéral respectif. Chacun de ces supports a une courbure intérieure qui part du châssis latéral correspondant pour aller vers l'autre. Deux repose-pieds (110) sont fixés, de façon qu'ils puissent pivoter, chacun sur son support respectif, de sorte que chaque repose-pied peut être basculé et mis soit dans une position horizontale, position dans laquelle il peut recevoir la jambe de l'utilisateur, soit dans une position verticale, position permettant l'accès au fauteuil et également le pliage du fauteuil.
