[origin: WO9306023A1] A tubular bag package has a strip-like tearing zone (9) that begins with a U-shaped cut out (6) in one of the two strip-like marginal zones (2, 3) cold-sealed in a connecting zone (1) so as to form a tubular bag fin. The U-shaped cut out (6), within which the package material forms a gripping tongue (8), has legs that extend in the direction of the connecting zone (1) and the ends (7) of the legs possibly extend into said zone. The remaining section of the U-shaped cut out (6), however, is not contiguous to the connecting zone, so that possible misfits caused during production between the U-shaped cut out (6) and layers of cold-bonding agent applied on the section, as well as lateral wraping of both marginal zones (2, 3), cannot cause the adherence of the gripping tongue (8). When the gripping tongue (8) is drawn in order to open the package, the packaging material tears along approximately parallel lines (10) in the longitudinal direction, starting from the ends (7) of the cut out (6).
