Abstract (en)
A mirror comprising a surface of glass or synthetic material (1), the rear face of which is coated with a reflective film (2) protected by copper electroplating and by the application of a film of varnish. Said mirror has a far longer life than a conventional mirror because it is combined with a second surface (5) of glass or synthetic material parallel with the first surface (1). The two faces are separated from one another by an intermediate part (6) so as to create a gap (7) forming an air and humidity seal between the two surfaces (1, 5). Said seal is formed by the addition of a hygroscopic substance (9). <IMAGE>

un miroir contenant une vitre ou une surface en matière synthétique (1) , revêtue à la paroi de fond d'une couche réfléchissante (2) protégée par un cuivrage galvanique et par l'application d'une couche de vernis. La longévité dudit miroir est de loin supérieure à celle d'un miroir traditionnel puisqu'il est combiné avec une seconde surface (5) composée d'une vitre ou d'une matière synthétique, parallèle à la première surface (1). Les deux faces sont séparées l'une de l'autre par un élément intermédiaire (6) de telle manière que se crée un espace interstitiel (7), assurant une étanchéité à l'air et à l'humidité entre les deux surfaces (1,5). Ladite étanchéité est réalisée grâce à l'adjonction d'une substance hygroscopique (9). <IMAGE>
