[origin: WO9209801A1] A cylinder liner (1, 1') for a water-cooled combustion engine has a plurality of cooling channels designed as elongated blind bores (8, 8') extending upwards from a coolant supply chamber (6; 6') and communicating with a coolant outlet chamber (7; 7'). A guide member (21; 38) is mounted within the channel. The guide member prevents the water flow from contacting and thus cooling a section (32; 40) of the channel surface facing towards the combustion chamber so that the temperature gradient over the liner decreases which leads to a lower cooling effect.

Chemise de cylindre (1, 1') pour moteurs à combustion interne refroidis par l'eau, possédant une pluralité de canaux de refroidissement sous forme de perçages borgnes allongés (8, 8') s'étendant vers le haut à partir d'une chambre d'alimentation en liquide de refroidissement (6; 6'), et reliés à une chambre de décharge de liquide de refroidissement (7; 7'). Un élément de guidage (21; 38) est monté à l'intérieur du canal et sert à éviter que l'écoulement d'eau ne touche et refroidisse une section (32; 40) de la surface du canal qui est orientée vers la chambre de combustion, de sorte que le gradient thermique sur la chemise s'amenuise, ce qui entraîne une diminution de l'action refroidissante.
