Abstract (en)
The present invention relates to an armchair which can be transformed into a bed or a stretcher and comprises a backrest (5), a seat part (7) and a leg rest (6) bracing a set of two rectangular lateral frames, hinged at their tops and integral in their deformation, of which the front sides (1) and rear sides (2) are extended respectively upwards and downwards in order to form the lateral reinforcements of the backrest (5) and of the leg rest (6), and of which the lower sides (3) form the lateral reinforcements of the seat part (7), and of which the upper sides (4) are each hinged about a horizontal hinge pin (8), normally perpendicular to the vertical planes passing through the said frames, and integral with a base (9) resting on the ground, this armchair being characterised in that the hinge pin (8) of the upper side (4) of a frame is arranged either below or above the said upper side (4) at a distance from the latter not exceeding 10 centimetres. This armchair is intended more particularly for the handling, transporting, laying down and seating of disabled or able-bodied persons who are to be examined or operated on. <IMAGE>

La présente invention concerne un fauteuil transformable en lit brancard comportant un dossier (5), une assise (7) et un repose-jambes (6) entretoisant un ensemble de deux cadres latéraux rectangulaires, articulés à leurs sommets et solidaires dans leur déformation, dont les côtés antérieurs (1) et postérieurs (2) sont respectivement prolongés vers le haut et vers le bas pour constituer les armatures latérales du dossier (5) et du repose-jambes (6), dont les côtés inférieurs (3) constituent les armatures latérales de l'assise (7), et dont les côtés supérieurs (4) sont chacun articulés autour d'un axe d'articulation horizontal (8), normalement perpendiculaire aux plans verticaux passant par lesdits cadres, et solidaire d'un piétement (9) reposant sur le sol, ce fauteuil étant caractérisé en ce que l'axe d'articulation (8) du côté supérieur (4) d'un cadre est disposé soit au-dessous, soit au-dessus dudit côté supérieur (4), à une distance de ce dernier n'excédant pas 10 centimètres. Ce fauteuil est plus particulièrement destiné à la manipulation, au transport, au couchage et à la mise au fauteuil de personnes impotentes ou valides devant être examinées ou opérées. <IMAGE>
