[origin: EP0560093A1] The invention relates to a high-duty/small section/wire rod mill with a roughing train having in each case a plurality of roll stands or rolling units, with at least one intermediate train and with an adjoining finishing train, in particular in the form of a finishing block 1 for the single- or multi-strand rolling of wire or stock having a circular cross-section composed of special steel or some other alloy steel. With a view to a higher throughput and for the purpose of better stock quality, the said mill is provided with at least one two-stand rerolling block 11, which is arranged on the output side of the finishing block, a temperature-controlling cooling and/or equalising device 17, 18 for the stock being inserted between the finishing block 1 and the rerolling block 11. <IMAGE>
