[origin: EP0560194A1] The description is given of a facade cladding with wood shingles (7), using prefabricated shingle elements which are ready for laying and each comprise a carrying batten (5 and 6) and a plurality of shingles (7) fastened one next to the other thereon. Initial planning and mounting of the facade cladding is made considerably easier in that the invention provides two shingle-element variants (A and B) which are to be mounted alternately in the vertical direction. In one variant (B), the shingles are laid over the entire length of the carrying battens (6). In the other variant (A), the carrying battens (5) project at the two ends (5a) by half a shingle width and an expansion joint. The carrying battens (5, 6) are of rectangular cross-section and are laid on a counter-batten arrangement at distances of up to 80 cm from one another. Moreover, advantageous profile strips for the vertical connections and the working procedure are described. <IMAGE>
