[origin: EP0560292A2] The invention relates to a device for locking and unlocking the lid (8) of a cash-register-activated cash drawer (2) which, for its operating use, can be placed onto a fixed base part (14) and can be retained on the latter, comprising a bolt (26) arranged on the cash-drawer housing and movable between an unlocking position and a locking position, furthermore a locking element (22), actuable via a lock (12), for adjusting the bolt (26), which locking element is adjustable between an operative position corresponding to the unlocking position of the bolt and an inoperative position, and an electrically switchable switching element (44) for adjusting the bolt (26), which switching element can likewise be switched between an operative position and an inoperative position. There is provided a blocking element (48) which, when the cash drawer (2) is placed onto the base part (14), comes positively into engagement with the locking element (22) and blocks the latter in its inoperative position. Formed on the base part (14) is an actuating face (54) which, when the cash drawer (2) is put in place, comes into engagement with the blocking element (48) and adjusts the latter into its blocking position. <IMAGE>
