Abstract (en)
A fork (10) for use with a fork lift truck is manufactured from a plurality of lamination layers (30,32,34,36). The layers may be of the same material or different materials to reflect the stresses imposed on the different layers. Layers subjected to high tensile stresses may be manufactured from high tensile materials while layers subject to lesser stresses may be made from less expensive materials. The layers may occur in any one or more of the blade (12), shank (16) or heel (14) areas of the fork to meet the stresses involved. Various areas may have different numbers of layers, a particular advantage occurring in use of reinforcing layers in the heel (14) area. The lamination layers are secured to one another by adhesives or by welding or the like. <IMAGE>
